This Mermaid 1st Birthday was thrown by Tara for her adorable daughter, Chloe. With the party starting at 3p, Tara didn't have to provide a full lunch. Instead, she had a variety of amazing desserts, drinks, and an onsite Taco Man serving up three types of tacos, beans and rice.
The decor was sweet and simple in colors of soft pink, purple and teal. Tara had two dozen balloons blown up and let them float up to the ceiling. She served pink lemonade in mason jars with purple chevron paper straws, similar to these from Painting Paris Pink on Etsy ($3.95 for 25).
The dessert table was amazing! Full of sweets so pretty you almost didn't want to eat them! The cupcakes continued the color scheme in pink, purple and teal frosting, and were all topped with different edible sea creatures. You can buy fondant toppers like these on Etsy. ($18.95 for 1 dozen).
Tara baked brownies and delicious rice krispie treats and used a cookie cutter in the shape of a star. The Mermaid cookies were another "too pretty to eat" treat that I just had to try! You can buy cookies similar to these on Etsy, like these from Cookie Coterie. ($31 for 1 dozen).
A must when throwing a child friendly party? Activities! Tara didn't forget her littlest guests when she set up an area on the lawn for them to play. My girls, Brooklyn and Hayden, enjoyed this area! She rented a few toddler chairs and tables, like these from America's Party Rental, and set up a variety of art supplies for them to create a masterpiece. She also had a sand and water discovery table that the kids got REALLY messy in! A big thanks to her for allowing me show everyone her adorable Mermaid party and I hope it gave you some inspiration for your next event!
